Layered Spirulina Smoothie

They tell you to “eat the rainbow.” So we shall! Perfect treat to impress your family and friends. 

Boost your morning with a colourful breakfast. 

INGREDIENTS

Red Layer

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup yogurt, vanilla or plain
  • 1/2 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

Orange Layer

  • 1 cup frozen mangoes
  • 1 small persimmon, cut into quarters
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder

Turquoise Layer

  • 1 frozen banana
  • ½ teaspoon Organic Burst Spirulina powder
  • 1/2 cup almond milk (or any liquid of choice)
  • A handful mint leaves
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

METHOD

  1. Make the red layer. Blend all ingredients in a blender. Set aside.
  2. Make the orange layer. Blend all ingredients. Set aside.
  3. Make the blue layer. Blend all ingredients until smooth and set aside.
  4.  Layer your smoothie. Pour the red into a glass or bottle, topped with orange and then turquoise. Enjoy the beautiful layers as you sip through the flavours
